Drew Barthlow, L.Ac.

Drew Barthlow, Licensed Acupuncturist Athens GADrew Barthlow is a Georgia licensed, nationally certified acupuncturist and has been in practice since 2010.  He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and earned his Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the World Medicine Institute in Honolulu, HI. The World Medicine Institute was founded by Dr. Chang Yi Xiang, a 64th generation Heavenly Taoist Master from Long Hu Shan in Jiangxi, China. Dr. Chang was trained from the age of six specifically to bring this ancient healing art to the Western world. Drew had the honor of working closely with Dr. Chang during his time in Hawaii, assisting her in clinic as she treated patients, developing herbal formulas, and practicing Qigong. In the fall of 2007 he was among a few students chosen to accompany her to China to visit several teaching hospitals and to attend the International Taoist conference in Hong Kong.

Upon graduating in the Spring of 2010, Drew opened a practice in Honolulu and also began teaching Traditional Chinese Medical Theory, Point Location, and Qigong at the World Medicine Institute. Serving the school in this capacity afforded him even more one on one learning experience with Dr. Chang as well as the other heads of the school, Dr. Eric Ono and Dr. Gayle Todoki. Drew is adept at treating a wide variety of conditions, yet his specialties are in treating stress, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, spiritual/emotional issues, digestive disorders, and acute and chronic pain. He very much enjoys working with raw herbs, which are typically decocted into a tea or made into a salve and offers this service to patients here at 5 Points Acupuncture.
